IF you can guess the sample used at the end of my track “AcadeMICS”!  DJ 501 cut up a sample from one of my favorite movies at the end of my song “AcadeMICS.”  If you can guess what movie the sample is from, I’ll give you a free copy of my entire album “Equations”!  Comment on this post or email me at arhythmatik@mlahiphop.com with your guesses! If you can’t figure out what it is, you can still download my track “AcadeMICS” free below ;)

Well, kinda.  All my music is now only .50 cents per track!  That’s right. Every song you purchase right here on the “Music” page of www.arhythmatik.com (or arhythmatik.bandcamp.com) is only .50!  I wanted it to be easy to access good, fresh, positive hip hop, so this I hope this helps.

Well, it’s FINALLY here! My latest single “BackSpin” is out now! It took a bit longer than usual to get this one out for some reason. The track features one of my good friends DJ Raydn1. I actually produced the beat almost 5 years ago when we were visiting some friends in Texas. I had some free time and was looking for a completely different sound, but this one kinda produced itself and came out a banger. I wanted to bring back the nostalgia of the original days when hip hop was just starting to catch on. I remember back in elementary school breakdancing on a piece of cardboard during recess while blasting the boombox. We even had a school-sponsored breakdance contest at Downey Elementary in Cortez, Colorado haha. It was those days I wanted to help people remember with the lyrics, all while throwing in some underground hip hop metaphorical stuff. I recorded the lyrics in my office at Arizona State University a few late nights I was working haha. Hope my old boss doesn’t see that one! lol Once DJ Raydn1 put the cuts on, it gave it that classic boom-bap original hip hop sound it needed. Hope you like it and be sure to share this with your friends on the web!

Here is a quick video JML posted of footage from the LDS Youthfest a few weeks ago.  I had a blast performing and the crowd was great.  Thanks to all who came out and supported!  More footage to come soon hopefully.

This is the illest thing in the history of music!  You gotta peep this application.  It is a program that allows you to listen to various online radio stations, but it allows you to totally customize your experience.  You can search for specific artists, listen to their songs, and save their songs to listen to ANYTIME.  It also shows a list of other similar artists and allows you to listen to and save their songs as well.  You can share your “stations” and access them anywhere.  They have also just announced that a Blackberry and iPhone version of Slacker is coming very soon.  Illy!  Peep it at  www.slacker.com.  Too bad no Arhythmatik music is on there yet!  I gotta find out more about how to make that happen.

Ok- so I decided to completely change my mind and go with a GLUE track this month. Some DOPE cats from Chicago bring you this month’s banger called “Beat Beat Beat”. Check it out! Let me know what you think of it in the comments section! It’s off of their album “Catch As Catch Can” that came out in 2006. One of my favorite groups. Support them and buy a few of their tracks from iTunes or something!

Here’s the dealy. I am so busy with other things now in my life– like other business endeavors, family life, kids, etc.– that I just don’t have the time that is necessary to become a full time artist. BUT– I still have a passion for making dope, positive hip hop music. So here’s what I’m considering: instead of waiting a few years between each album from me and making you pay for those albums, I am considering offering a song each month for free download. This will probably replace any albums I will likely do in the future. I will just offer a free song for downloading each month. So what say ye? Good idea? Bad idea? Let me know what you think of this idea in the comments section!

I decided to let y’all know what tracks I’ve been digging lately. Some may be old and outdated, some may be new and fresh. Either way, the tracks represent something that I love about music or hip hop culture. I’m probably breaking tons of copyright laws by doing this– but wutevers. I am giving props to dope musicians and not offering any unauthorized downloads of other people’s music. Of course the tracks will all be clean, positive hip hop. So it is with pleasure I present to you the first ever DIG DOWN:

This month’s song comes to you from One Be Lo. A dope MC out of Pontiac, Michigan. This track is off his last album S.O.N.O.G.R.A.M. He has a new album out called “Rebirth” but I haven’t really been digging it that much. Either way, this track is called “Rocketship” and is just the pure essence of dope hip hop– from the beat, to the rhyming, to the lyrics– it’s just good ol’ fashioned dope hip hop. A classic track all around.

Well I been working hard to finish up my new album “Equations” and I am happy to say thanks to my mans Scott Allen– it is just about finished! I still have a few hooks to write to, but Scott helped me come up with a SICK hook for the beat Pac0naut made for me. Anyways– I posted some of the new songs in the “media” and “store” section- so check em out.
